In the absence of a physical festival, we launched an interactive microsite for Malay CultureFest, where one could embark on a virtual adventure from the comfort of their homes, and explore the diversity in Malay artistic and cultural expressions through performances, talks, workshops, trails, and cultural activities.
The festival showcased the heritage and culture of the Banjar community, Singapore's smallest sub-ethnic Malay community. Hopping on a klotok, the traditional mode of transportation for the Banjarese, festival attendees could travel through a virtual river of time, and try their hands at making Banjarese dishes, revel in gamelan or wayang shows, and cosy up for a dramatized retelling of Malay folktales via the microsite.
